Alder Flat, Mt. Hood National Forest

A short hike (.55 miles) to a great swimming spot is the Alder Flat Trailhead outside of Estacada. The trail is off of Highway 224 and is a popular destination for campers and fishermen. On those few ungodly hot Oregon summer days, we enjoy taking the dog clan down here for a swim and a picnic. An FYI, the water is cold...really cold.
